Access & Affordability

Invest in your Future With Confidence

At Carnegie Mellon University, we believe a world-class education should be accessible to all our students. That's why we commit millions of dollars annually toward financial need. For example, in 2022-2023, we awarded $124.8 million in grants to 41% of our students. As a result of our efforts, only 30% of our full-time undergraduate students from the Class of 2023 borrowed federal student loans to support their educational expenses.

CMU provides tailored financial aid solutions for both undergraduate and graduate students. Our comprehensive financial aid packages may include scholarships and grants, work-study opportunities and loans. In addition, we offer flexible payment options to help you manage costs and minimize debt. Learn more about how we work with you to keep your education attainable and affordable.
